Welcome to the Heathwood Inn
Built in 1890, the Heathwood Inn is located on the Acadia Scenic Byway. The Inn was originally a Maine farmhouse, and it has been lovingly restored as a cozy Bed & Breakfast Inn. The Inn is located in the portion of Bar Harbor once known as Eden, and the Inn provides the relaxing environment that fits the name. Each of the five guestrooms has a comfortable decor and unique amenities perfect for relaxing after a day out on the Island.
The Heathwood inn is centrally located to Bar Harbor and all points on the Island. It is just a short drive to the entrance to Acadia National Park, and is perfectly located for all Island activities. Hiking, Kayaking, and Bicycling are just moments away. And a lovely beach is within walking distance if you prefer to start your morning with a visit to Frenchman's Bay.

The inn was originally a Maine Farmhouse and it has been lovingly restored to capture it's original character.
The Herb and Perennial garden is a mix of nursery and native plants. Designed in the style of a Maine cottage garden, it is a place to enjoy the Maine sunshine. Like any garden, it is a constant work in progress. Guests are free to enjoy the garden patio any time.

A vacation in Bar Harbor provides something for everyone. From great restaurants with the best fresh lobster in the world, to the spectacular Maine coastline. From outdoor activities from those that will exhilarate an experienced outdoor adventurer to a gentle walk on the carriage paths. From the mountains to the ocean, Bar Harbor is the perfect summer vacation destination.
