Mid-June to mid-October the Island Explorer Free Shuttle Bus runs and offers pickup/drop-offs at our property's driveway on Rt3, check schedules.

Dana & Lena Hatch
Dana has lived in the village of Salisbury Cove his whole life (so far).
The Heathwood Inn is situated on Mount Desert Island, in the township of Bar Harbor, and within the village of Salisbury Cove.
Dana's family home of 68 years is one mile from Heathwood Inn Bed & Breakfast Bar Harbor, Maine. Dana's mother still resides there!
His family has deep roots on the Island and throughout Maine.
In Fact, Dana's father's family were the Owners/Inn Keepers at the Woodland Cottages just up the road from the Heathwood Inn.
Lena is originally from California and lived in Florida 23 years before visiting New England and Maine in 2009. She fell head over heels in love with the area. Looking for an excuse to stay (forever) with the idea of being alone and happy, she bought a Made in Maine store in Bar Harbor, which moved her to Maine in 2011.
In December of 2011, Lena and Dana met as Dana was late Christmas shopping, and visited Lena's holiday vendor booth. The rest is making history!
They were married April 29, 2012 at the fountain in Agamont Park in the town of Bar Harbor, Maine.
Dana has 3 lovely girls, 2 in-law children, 4 grands. (2- Grand-princes and 2 Grand-princesses).
Lena has 7 children, 5 in-law children, 7 grands. (5 Grand-princes, and 2 Grand-Princess), so far....
Dana's mother and father have 7 children, his mother wanted 10!
Dana has been a Carpenter for 30 plus years, in business for himself 15.
Lena has been a stay at home mother for 21 years, during which time, she was an events coordinator - and volunteered in and managed hospitality for 500 plus attendees for 20 years.
She started her own business in 2004, and owned a Made in Maine Gift Shop in Bar Harbor for 4 seasons. Handmade sea glass jewelry, art works and photographs are available for purchase at the Heathwood Inn as well as online at : Acadia's Mainely Ours
